Jonathan Stein, known professionally as JNTHN STEIN, is an American electronic record producer, DJ and musician. Originally from Oakland, California, he now lives in Brooklyn, New York. Jonathan is also a co-founder of the Candid Music Group and member of LA’s production crew Team Supreme.
Career historyIn 2015, Stein worked closely with Ableton as a spokesperson for their Ableton Push video series which was followed by an EP release in Dec 2015, of the music featured in the video.
In January 2016, an Ableton Push documentary was produced and released featuring Team Supreme and Stein. As well, Steins's first full single was released through Division Records, which is a label imprint of Noisia.
In late October 2016, two remixes were released for Janelle Kroll ‘FVR’ and for Joe Hertz ‘Swimming’ plus his previous remix on Majestic Casual has had support on both Beats 1 Radio and BBC Radio 1 when it was released.
In January 2017, Stein released his debut solo EP, ‘’Changes’’, through the independent Australian label ‘’ETC ETC’’ and through Ministry of Sound. In April an official remix EP of ‘’Changes’’ was released, featuring three remixes of the songs ‘’Changes’’ and ‘’Silvertown’’ done by Mr. Carmack, Djemba Djemba, and Penthouse Penthouse. In April, 2017 Stein released his new song, ‘Everything is a Drug’ that according to one review “exemplifies a true mastery of music,” it was showcased on various music magazines and publications such as Your EDM, The Music Ninja, Vents Magazine, Anthony Valedez’s KCRW May playlist Stein has recently finished a European tour, including The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, where he was interviewed and featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra with Jamz Supernova. Stein released a new song "Who Cares" with co-producer Mr Carmack through Hypebeast on May 25, 2017. Stein is currently the spokesperson again for Ableton, where he demos the Push 2 as a keyboard.
