Matthew Koma (born Matthew Bair, June 2, 1987) is an American singer and songwriter born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, New York. Inspired by Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen, Koma started his music career in punk rock, later transitioning into a mixture of genres ranging from pop and hip hop to EDM. Koma's early collaborations include work with Hardwell, Zedd, Miriam Bryant, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Tiesto and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. His collaboration with Zedd has been his most notable accomplishment to date with their song "Spectrum" being premiered by Rolling Stone and spending two weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart.
